Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 8, 2026
Landholder.com (“we”, “us”, “our”) takes privacy seriously. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and your rights. By using the Service you accept this policy and our Terms of Use.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Submitted information: property address, acreage, your name, email, phone (if provided), and any messages or notes you include in forms.
- Account information: if you create a Pro account, we store your email, hashed password, and account preferences.
- Transaction information: when you purchase a premium report or subscribe to a paid tier, our payment processor (Stripe) handles card details; we receive metadata about the transaction (amount, date, plan, last 4 digits, payment status). We do not store full card numbers.
- Usage information: IP address (hashed for click attribution), user agent, pages viewed, timestamps, referrer URL, and basic analytics data (collected via Vercel Analytics; no third-party advertising cookies).
- Assessment data: the results of any assessment you run (parcel coordinates, scoring outputs) are stored linked to your submitted address.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To operate the Service, generate assessments, and match you to providers.
- To route your contact details to specific providers you have explicitly or implicitly indicated interest in (e.g., by clicking a quote-request button or unlocking provider matches with your email).
- To send transactional communications (assessment results, report deliveries, account notices) and, where you opt in, marketing emails.
- To improve our scoring models, content, and provider directory.
- To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Who We Share Information With
We share information only as follows:
- Providers you request: when you submit a quote request, unlock provider matches, or click an outbound provider link, we share your relevant contact and parcel information with that specific provider so they can follow up.
- Service vendors who process information on our behalf, including: Vercel (hosting + analytics), Neon Postgres (database hosting), SendGrid (email delivery), Stripe (payment processing), Mapbox (geocoding), and various US federal/state data providers we query for parcel intelligence (USGS, USDA, EIA, US Census, USFWS, FEMA — point-only queries; no personal data shared with these).
- Legal compliance: when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, the safety of users, or the integrity of the Service.
- Business transfers: if Landholder.com is acquired or merges with another entity, your information may transfer subject to this policy.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for monetary consideration, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Affiliate compensation we receive from providers is based on referrals or transactions, not on the sale of your data.
